You Asked, We Listened

You asked

For the removal of student runners.

We listened

We no longer use Year 8 student runners to distribute messages around the school. The benefit of removing this duty is that students no longer miss valuable lesson time. As a result, we ask that parents make sure that their child knows if they need to leave school early for an appointment. On the occasion that this is not possible we will try to pass this message across using another means of communication. If your child forgets their PE bag or lunch, we encourage students to come to the main office to see if anyone has brought in their belongings. Student services are also available for students to visit so they can call home if they have forgotten something.

You asked

To establish a better way to communicate students homework with parents.

We listened

Recently we launched Show My Homework here at TSTC.

We are really pleased with how our students are using this online platform and we have had some positive feedback from parents already.

The great thing about Show My Homework is that even if you forget your password you can still view our school homework calendar by visiting the Show My Homework Calendar and searching specifically for a students set homework.

You asked

Improve communication between parents and the school.

We listened

During September we were pleased to launch MyEd here at TSTC.

MyEd is the free parent app that gives parents a multitude of communication and information features to stay in touch with what is going on at school. The app allows parents to gain direct access to their child's timetable, achievements and much, much more. You will also see that we update and change the information in the app as the school year moves along.

Over a third of our parents have now downloaded MyEd and we hope that more parents will download as the year progresses.

For more information about MyEd click here.

You asked

It would be nice to have more undercover space outside so that students can have somewhere to gather outside when it is raining.

We listened

During the Easter break a canopy was installed in the Quad so that students have somewhere to go outside that provides cover when it is raining. Another canopy is also due to be put up in the next few weeks.

I would like to make a formal complaint about the lack of sausage rolls in the canteen. I think that you should take this into considerations. The canteen gets very busy and I queue just to get one and when I get into the canteen, all I see is a dull empty tin, with no sausage rolls. I feel heart broken. So I have to go for second best…dry crusty chicken burgers. You always seem to have them… it’s just not on. I hope you understand and fix this issue.

Yours sincerely

We listened

Mr Brown has spoken to the canteen staff to make sure that more sausage rolls are provided for our students at breaktime.
